About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Casing & Crating Transformer Assembler - 1st Shift at our Nacogdoches, TX facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $19.00 per hour, plus a $1.35 shift differential. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks across various work centers, including: Tank-up, casing, small parts, vacuum chamber, cover bander, palletizing, and final assembly.
  • Attach and install critical component parts and sub-assemblies to transformer tanks (e.g., leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, bands, etc.).
  • Anchor core/coil assemblies into tanks, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Execute various hand assembly, fitting, and adjusting operations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Retrieve, assemble, and securely attach covers, maintaining consistent standards.
  • Conduct temperature checks, install and inspect components, initiate and troubleshoot leak checks, repair leaking units, and perform fluid checks to ensure proper oil use.
  • Load, operate, and unload the vacuum system efficiently.
  • Use small power hand tools as required, demonstrating proficiency and safety awareness.
  • Follow written communications, including operating instructions (VOP), BOM lists, production schedules, and WSRA.
  • Expertly rework nonconforming parts and products to meet quality standards.
  • Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
  • Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.
