The PACU Technician is responsible for performing advanced patient care tasks as delegated by the RN. This includes tasks such as IV insertion and removal, phlebotomy, monitoring vital signs, bladder scanning, blood glucose checks, and performing EKGs. The technician also measures and documents vital signs, collects specimens, maintains nursing supplies, and ensures a clean and safe work environment. They are involved in patient positioning, transporting, and assisting with admissions and discharges. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and understand growth and development principles.
