About The Position

Augusta Surgical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN PACU Registered Nurse for its ambulatory surgery center. The nurse provides safe and effective postoperative care from recovery until patients are dismissed from the facility, while supporting the organization’s commitment to patient care, safety, and satisfaction.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• At least 1 year of experience in a PACU or ICU setting.
• Active RN license as required by the state of employment.
• Valid BCLS certification upon employment; online certification is not accepted.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification as required by the facility.

• Experience in an ambulatory surgery center is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient care area and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients according to policy, including vital signs, temperature, and cardiac status.
• Properly insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform and document a head-to-toe evaluation using an approved scoring system in accordance with HCA policy and procedure.
• Check dressings and operative sites and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and families.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
