About The Position

Trinity Park Surgery Center is seeking a PRN PACU Nurse for its ambulatory surgery center in Arlington, Texas. The nurse provides safe and effective postoperative nursing care until patients are dismissed from the facility, while supporting the center’s mission and values. The center is AAAHC accredited and has 15 pre-op bays and 18 PACU bays. Its services include 23-hour care for GI, orthopedic, gynecology, podiatry, and urology surgeries.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
At least 1 year of experience in a PACU or ICU setting.
Active RN license as required by the state of employment.
Valid BCLS certification upon employment; online certification is not acceptable.
ACLS certification required.
PALS certification as required by the facility.

Experience in an ambulatory surgery center is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients’ care areas and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
Monitor patients according to policy, including vital signs, temperature, and cardiac status.
Properly insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
Perform and document head-to-toe patient evaluations using an approved scoring system and following HCA policies and procedures.
Check patients’ dressings and operative sites and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and their families.
Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
