About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), as well as in Pre-operative, Recovery, and GI lab environments. The role includes managing ICU patients recovering in the PACU and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care. The position is listed for 10-hour shifts with 40 guaranteed hours per week. It requires every-other-weekend work, work on two of three major holidays, and call availability. Scrub color is navy. Phillips telemetry equipment is used. An IV team is not available; respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7.
Requirements
- Current RN license.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience in a PACU or similar environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care, ensuring patients’ safety and comfort.
- Monitor vital signs and patient recovery status.
- Administer medications and follow post-operative protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care.
- Manage ICU patients recovering in the PACU.
