About The Position

The PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure. The PACU RN is a professional nurse who is directly or indirectly responsible for delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during the post-operative phases of the perioperative stay. The PACU RN participates in the clinical assessment, planning for care, implantation of appropriate nursing techniques and evaluation of nursing interventions.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 1 year previous PACU experience
• Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse.
• Certified though the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure.
• Delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during the post-operative phases of the perioperative stay.
• Participating in the clinical assessment, planning for care, implantation of appropriate nursing techniques and evaluation of nursing interventions.
