The PACT Representative I role is responsible for seamlessly linking the patient experience between PACT and the practice site by utilizing facility/provider information and established policies and procedures. This position involves assisting inbound callers using resources and critical thinking skills, making outbound calls when necessary, and escalating complex problems and questions for resolution. The role also includes performing basic technical troubleshooting for online applications, systems, or access issues, and coordinating patient appointment scheduling, cancellations, reschedules, and additions. Additionally, the PACT Representative I obtains and verifies demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and updating records as needed, while applying knowledge of payer requirements. The position requires identifying emergent calls and transferring them to a Registered Nurse for triage, adhering to guidelines for emergency situations and critical call handling. The representative determines patient needs to route them for triage, scheduling, or other services, submits medication refill requests for evaluation, and pages providers and facilities as appropriate. Providing excellent customer service according to departmental standards, asking clarifying questions, presenting options, and escalating only necessary situations are key aspects of this role. The position also supports organizational marketing efforts by providing information and referrals, maintaining databases, and performing additional duties as needed. Maintaining knowledge and efficient utilization of all information systems is also required.
