This role is responsible for seamlessly linking the patient experience between PACT and the practice site by utilizing facility/provider information and established policies and procedures. The PACT Representative I will use resources and critical thinking skills to assist inbound callers, and make outbound calls when required or when follow-up is deemed necessary. This position has the ability to recognize complex problems and questions and escalates for resolution when needed. They will perform basic technical troubleshooting in connection to online applications, systems, or access as requested to resolve issues. Responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments and coordinating cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules. They will obtain demographic and insurance information and verify insurance coverage, ensuring accuracy and updating information as necessary, applying acquired knowledge of government and third-party payer requirements. The role also involves completing essential forms, obtaining necessary patient demographic and insurance information, and verifying and updating the medical record. Identifying emergent calls and following the process for immediate transfer to a Registered Nurse for triaging is crucial, along with maintaining competency in and adherence to guidelines for emergency situations and critical call handling. The PACT Representative I determines patient needs, routing them for triage, scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments, submitting medication refill requests for evaluation, and paging providers and facilities as appropriate. They provide customer service per established departmental standards, asking clarifying questions, presenting options or solutions, and escalating only necessary situations. This role assists with organizational marketing efforts by providing associated information and referrals, while maintaining appropriate records. Regular reporting and updating of provider and marketing databases are also key responsibilities. The PACT Representative I performs additional duties based on department needs and maintains knowledge and efficient utilization of all information systems used by the department.
