About The Position

The technician performs basic quality assurance checks, transports raw, semi-finished, and finished materials to support efficient process flow, and follows oral and written instructions, safety rules, and requirements for protective equipment. The role supports the facility’s mission, safety, and ISO goals and participates as a member of the Remington Team. The position is a 10-hour evening shift, Monday through Thursday. The work may involve handling hazardous waste; required hazardous-waste management training must be completed within six months of starting the job and annually thereafter. Until trained, employees handling hazardous waste must work under the direct supervision of a trained supervisor or employee. Other duties may be assigned according to business needs. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, explosives, vibration, and, occasionally, wet or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. The work area is usually loud and requires hearing protection. Approved safety glasses with side shields or goggles and steel-toe safety shoes are required. Safety training is provided for work involving potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Physical requirements include corrected vision to 20/20 with normal depth perception and peripheral vision; repeatedly lifting and moving up to 25 pounds without assistance; pushing a loaded production buggy weighing up to 1,500 pounds; standing or sitting for up to three hours at a time; occasionally kneeling, crouching, bending, or reaching; ascending and descending stairs; and grasping and feeling small parts. Some physical demands may be waived for accommodations when doing so does not adversely affect other employees.
