The Packing Technician I (PT1) is an entry level position within the Operations department. The specific role may vary depending on the type of cheese product packaged, but most PT1s perform basic production duties. This position may also perform sanitation duties as needed. The role requires compliance with all plant GMP, SQF Quality and Safety, Food Safety, and Bio-Security procedures. The PT1 is responsible for ensuring product is run to specification, maintaining the highest quality, and assisting in root cause analysis for quality defects. The position also involves recording tracking information, removing cheese from manufacturing containers, operating specific machinery, understanding GMPs, and creating rack and batch tags. Team members are expected to hold themselves and others accountable, report issues verbally, and participate in problem-solving methodologies. Availability for overtime, including weekends, is required.
