About The Position

The Packing Technician I (PT1) is an entry-level position within the Operations department. The specific role may vary depending on the type of cheese product packaged, but most PT1s perform basic production duties. This position requires compliance with all plant GMP, SQF Quality and Safety, Food Safety, and Bio-Security procedures. The role may also involve sanitation duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supporting a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company’s Safety Process.
  • Participate/support the SQF program and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions.
  • Ensure product is run to specification, maintaining the highest quality, and assist in performing root cause analysis on all quality defects.
  • Record tracking information from bulk cheese containers/LPs to table placards.
  • Remove cheese from manufacturing containers.
  • Operate Swiss and 640 lifts to load respective machines.
  • Understand all plant GMP’s.
  • Fold, dump, and skid forms.
  • Operate and maintain the fillers.
  • Create rack tags and batch tags.
  • Sort through trim to find foreign objects.
  • Perform routine quality checks.
  • Hold yourself and team members accountable.
  • Make verbal reports to the Line Leader and provide spoken information about a problem or issue.
  • Participate in 5Y methodology.
  • Be available to work overtime, as needed.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
