Packers and Machine Operators
About The Position
Ascend Staffing is hiring immediately for Packers and Machine Operators in the Rockwall, TX area. This role involves carrying out production, inspection, packaging, and machine operation duties. The position requires setting up, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing machinery, ensuring parts meet specifications by reading design manuals and blueprints. Operators will run test products for quality and accuracy, oversee automated and manual machinery, and monitor input/output, accuracy, and efficiency. A daily activity log of production notes is required. Adherence to state health and safety regulations, including wearing required protective equipment, is mandatory. Finished pieces are presented for review, and waste must be disposed of or recycled according to environmental policies.
Requirements
- Machine Operators experience required (at least 6 months or more)
- Packing experience required (at least 6 months or more)
- Manufacturing experience required
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to work in the US
- Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to accurately read blueprints, sketches and/or computer-aided designs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities
- Carry out production, inspection, packaging and machine operation duties
- Set-up, calibrate, maintain, and repair machinery and machine tools as needed
- Ensure machine parts are made to correct specifications by reading design manuals, blueprints, sketches, etc.
- Operate manual machinery and oversee automated machines
- Run test products to ensure quality and accuracy of production meets the set standard
- Oversee machines, belts, any moving pieces, etc. during the production process and adjust speed and/or movements as needed
- Observe and monitor input/output, accuracy, and efficiency of the machine
- Keep a daily activity log of production notes (including totals, defects, etc.)
- Follow state health and safety regulations by wearing required equipment and protection as needed
- Present finished pieces to management for review or customers for purchase
- Dispose of and/or recycle any waste in line with company and state environmental policy
