Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or one (1) year of manufacturing or production experience.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently push, pull, carry, bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to frequently lift and handle materials up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and schedule changes as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous packaging, production, warehouse, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing product quality inspections.
  • Experience using pallet jacks or material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and 5S methodologies.
  • Experience supporting production startups and product changeovers.
  • Experience operating tray-making or other packaging-related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cartons and trays for packaging by folding, taping, sorting, labeling, and assembling packaging materials.
  • Verify packaging materials are properly prepared and available for production.
  • Pack products into cartons, trays, and displays according to product specifications.
  • Ensure products are packaged in the correct cases and labeled accurately.
  • Tape and seal cartons when required.
  • Conduct visual inspections of finished products and packaging, including bag registration, code dates, pricing information, package seals, and case labeling.
  • Remove products that do not meet quality standards.
  • Communicate packaging quality concerns to Machine Operators, Group Leaders, or Supervisors.
  • Support food safety and quality standards throughout the packaging process.
  • Stack cartons and trays onto pallets using approved stacking patterns.
  • Utilize pallet jacks, when applicable, to move finished products weighing up to 300 pounds.
  • Support product rework activities according to plant procedures.
  • Follow proper lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling techniques.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Remove defective packaging materials, waste, and loose product from work areas.
  • Keep aisles, exits, turntables, and packaging areas clean and free from obstructions.
  • Perform sanitation tasks including equipment washes, seasoner cleanings, and wipeouts.
  • Properly store supplies and packaging materials in designated areas.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and workplace injuries promptly.
  • Assist with production line startups.
  • Support product changeovers and line preparation activities.
  • Operate tray-making and stapling equipment when trained and assigned.
  • Communicate operational issues to production leadership as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work mandatory overtime as business needs require.
