Packer (3rd Shift)

About The Position

The Packer packages frozen products manually, including placing finished cases on conveyors or rollers and moving products through various stages of processing. The position works across different production lines and tasks as required by job specifications. This is a third-shift role, scheduled from 11 PM to 7 AM.

Requirements

High school education or GED, or up to one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

Obtain, sort, and count products according to job specifications.
Work on different production lines as tasks and specifications require.
Weigh products and report inconsistencies to the lead packer or packing supervisor.
Label boxes according to product specifications.
Pack special arrangements or selections of products.
Inspect products for open seams, inconsistencies, and conformance to quality standards; report problems to supervision.
Record packaging information, including weight, time, and date.
Palletize finished products and enter the number of cases stacked per pallet into the computer.
Fabricate and assemble boxes by inserting them through a sealing machine.
Insert plastic liners into boxes and place boxes on conveyors or rollers.
Transport boxes through packaging stages using conveyor lines or rollers.
Rotate with other workers within the department and help coworkers as needed.
Alert direct supervision to complications or problems.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Attend scheduled company meetings when applicable, including safety, production, and department meetings.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
