About The Position
This position is for a Packer on a crew working a 7 AM to 7 PM shift. The role has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all duties. The employee is expected to promote a safe working environment and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. The job involves monitoring products for quality defects, packing at a standard rate, operating specific machinery, loading conveyors, practicing good housekeeping, and performing other assigned tasks by a supervisor. The role requires the ability to work with materials weighing 30-40 lbs.
Requirements
- Ability to work with 30-40 lb. materials.
Responsibilities
- Ensure product safety and quality.
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor ware for quality defects and inform the operator and/or coordinator.
- Pack at standard rate.
- Operate a punch.
- Load conveyors and flamers.
- Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
- Remove scrap from around the line.
- Grind and pull plastic as needed.
- Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
- Initial and date box labels.
- Make out unit tickets.
- Perform other work assigned by the Supervisor.
