About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow its loyal, career-driven, and customer-focused team and is currently recruiting for a Packer to work from its manufacturing facility located in Goodyear, AZ. The Packer is responsible for inspecting finished product prior to being bagged and then placing the bagged product in boxes/cases/displays. The Packer will assist in ensuring the plant environment meets food safety cleanliness objectives and operates according to established safety standards. This position works Monday – Friday from 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

Requirements

Requires basic math and reading skills.
Must be willing and able to stand 100% of the time
Requires knowledge of product quality and production processes.
Moderate lifting (40lbs)
Able to perform Sanitation duties weekly

Responsibilities

Inspects packaged items and alerts Machine Operator or Shift Supervisor of any problems.
Verifies package weight, code, dates, and price.
Examines packages for proper seal.
Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
Packs product into cartons, cans, and specialty containers.
Places carton, can or specialty container onto skid.
Responsible for training new packers.
Labels boxes and barrels
Rework items.
Cleans work areas.
Gives breaks and lunches.
Picks chips in processing room as needed.
Disassembles packaging machines, clean, and reassemble
Use cleaning chemicals, brooms, air guns, other tools as needed
Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times.
