About The Position

This position is for a Packer on the D team, working nights from 6:30 PM to 6:45 AM. The role involves ensuring product safety and quality through various tasks related to machine operation, product evaluation, and packaging. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and safe working area and perform duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures. This is a full-time, at-will employment position with Silgan, a leading manufacturer in dispensing and specialty closures, metal containers, and custom-designed plastic containers.

Requirements

• Fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality.
• Ability to monitor machine operation.
• Ability to count parts correctly.
• Ability to pack parts according to required stack pattern.
• Ability to identify nonconformities.
• Ability to evaluate product quality.
• Ability to report food safety and quality problems.
• Ability to tape boxes shut, label boxes, and stack for shipment.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Ability to perform sweeping, cleaning, and sorting duties.
• Ability to perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor machine operation to ensure parts are collected into storage boxes and are counted correctly.
• Ensure parts packed into storage boxes are in adherence to the required stack pattern.
• Identify nonconformities and inform the Shift QA.
• Evaluate product to ensure high quality and conformance with established standards.
• Report any food safety and quality problems or concerns.
• Tape boxes shut, label the boxes, and stack for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
