About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is recruiting a Packer for its manufacturing team at the High Street facility in Hanover, Pennsylvania. The Packer inspects and packs quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers while working in a team atmosphere and taking responsibility for an individual station. The role includes quality and food safety tasks, moving and scanning finished products, preparing the packing area, and assisting with sanitation duties. The position is identified as a weekend night role.

Requirements

Basic math and reading skills.
Ability to fluently communicate in and read English or Spanish.
Willingness and ability to stand 100% of the time.
Knowledge of product quality and production processes.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and safely maneuver loads up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and pivot regularly.
Ability to be trained as the backup lineperson and packer.
Ability to be trained to use a hand jack.

Responsibilities

Inspect packaged items and alert the machine operator or shift supervisor to any changes.
Perform quality and food safety tasks for the position.
Move product from the packing area to the warehouse using jacks filled with product.
Scan finished product into inventory using scanning equipment.
Set up mats and cartons for packers before production begins each day.
Prepare the packing area when packaging different products.
Help relieve coworkers for breaks and lunches.
Operate the Shrink Wrapper.
Help clean the packing-room floor and equipment weekly and perform other assigned sanitation duties.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
