About The Position

Tayco is an Office Furniture Manufacturer seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Packer - Order Optimizer to join their Afternoon Shift team. This role is responsible for collecting, consolidating, and packaging orders for final shipment, with a focus on maximum skid optimization. Requirements

  • Ability to operate hand/power tools (drills, pneumatic guns, wrapping machines etc.) and pump trucks.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Spacial awareness and ability to preplan for volume and utilize efficient packing techniques for complex orders.
  • Ability to achieve results and drive efficiencies.
  • Ability to work well with others and build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds and to carry, move, manipulate and/or position them and to move, bend, twist or occasional awkward body positions while performing work.
  • Good hand and eye coordination and muscular control sufficient to operate tools or equipment.
  • Ability to see closely and/or listen intently in order to achieve very detailed results and/or detect flaws or errors.
  • Ability to understand and follow established personal safety, security, and environmental practices.
  • Knowledgeable of and compliant with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupation Health and Safety Act (OSHA).
  • Must be trained in Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting, consolidating, and packaging orders for final shipment.
  • Ensuring maximum skid optimization.
  • Operating hand/power tools (drills, pneumatic guns, wrapping machines etc.) and pump trucks.
  • Documenting work.
  • Problem-solving in teams.
  • Learning new work processes.
  • Participating in continuous learning and regular team meetings.
  • Achieving results and driving efficiencies in day-to-day work.
  • Building effective working relationships within the department and Tayco.
  • Understanding and following established personal safety, security, and environmental practices.
  • Complying with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupation Health and Safety Act (OSHA).
  • Being trained in Health & Safety.
