About The Position

This role involves removing finished products from machines, inspecting them for quality and packaging compliance according to production work orders. The position requires reading work orders for product specifications and special packaging instructions, inspecting products for customer requirements and defects, and assisting with machinery start-up and changeovers. The Packer/Inspector will perform regular quality checks, adhere to all packaging requirements, and be capable of entering production data into JDE and printing necessary paperwork. A key responsibility includes completing at least one Work Place Observation per month, accurately placing customer labels, and adhering to identification sheets, tally sheets, and bar codes. The role also mandates following AIB Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), maintaining proper housekeeping and safety by keeping the work area clean and orderly, and managing paperwork correctly. The position requires the ability to read and use a tape measure and weigh scale, lift up to 50 pounds, possess manual dexterity, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Remove finished product from machines.
  • Inspect product to ensure quality specifications have been met and all packaging requirements have been done according to production work order.
  • Read work order for product specifications and any special instructions concerning packaging, special skids, cartons, banding requirements, and samples.
  • Inspects products for customer requirements and any defects.
  • Assists in start-up and changeover of machinery or orders.
  • Performs all required quality checks on all orders on a regular basis.
  • Adheres to all packaging requirements per Production Work Order.
  • Capable of entering production in JDE and printing all necessary paperwork, to include closing out last skid of order.
  • Completes at least one Work Place Observation per month.
  • Place customer labels on end of cartons or gaylords in a straight and neat manner.
  • Adhere to any and all identification sheets, tally sheets, bar codes as requested by the customer.
  • Follow AIB Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’S) per written procedures and practices.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safety by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintain paperwork in order and not inter-mixed with orders that are completed or about to run.
