About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Molding Packer is to inspect the product for defects and pack quality product according to work instructions. This role involves ensuring safety, visually inspecting products for non-conformities, packing quality products into boxes according to specifications, and immediately placing non-conforming products into scrap bins. The position requires reading travelers, comparing labels for accuracy, preparing packaging, and maintaining a clean workstation. Additionally, the role involves communicating quality questions, reporting safety concerns, and understanding food safety and regulatory responsibilities. Making boxes as necessary is also part of the duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds over head.
  • Ability to walk and or stand for 12 hours per day.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses, ear plugs, bump caps, beard/hair nets, and steel toed shoes.
  • Must be able to read the traveler and complete paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect product and identify product non-conformities.
  • Pack quality product into boxes, according to customer specifications and Berry quality guidelines.
  • Immediately place non-conforming product into the scrap bins as soon as it is found.
  • Read travelers and compare labels for accuracy.
  • Prepare packaging in accordance with traveler instructions.
  • Communicate questions regarding quality with necessary personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station.
  • Must be able to read the traveler and complete paperwork.
  • Pack lids or containers from any assigned machine.
  • Knows which supplies are needed each day and where to get them.
  • Report any safety concerns or problems to the Group Leader.
  • Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities; Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
