Activities and duties may vary upon site-specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to supporting the following: Packer/Material Handling/Core Cutter and Rewinder Operator Inspect general appearance of finished product Keep area supplied with necessary packaging materials Prepare cores for machine operators Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity Perform 5S duties and audits Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed Participate in group problem-solving teams and continuous improvement activities Sort, label, and package finished goods for shipment per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices Inspect general appearance of finished product Keep area supplied with necessary packaging materials Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate shift/department personnel to ensure effective operations Track multiple orders being packed at one time. Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity Maintain a clean, safe work area Perform 5S duties and audits Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed Participate in group problem-solving teams and continuous improvement activities Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor Print slitting diagrams Cut 3" and 6" Cores for all Slitters Retrieve, Replenish & Deliver Core Check Cores for Accuracy, Quality of Cuts & Adequate Quantity for Productions Dump blue bins at the end of the shift and when necessary Dump recyclables daily Perform Forklift Inspection Trim Compactor Controls & Operational Procedures Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finishing, Shipping, Receiving and manufacturing areas. Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System. Support inventory accuracy: Complete warehouse and departmental cycle counts and correct discrepancies. Help manage winding drum and rack inventories. Raw/Finishing warehouse: Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets and other consumable supplies to/from production areas, as required. Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping. Perform all assignments, duties and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately. Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity. Maintain a safe, clean work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
  • Strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root causes, then communicate / educate team in a timely manner.
  • Able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
  • Proficiency with computer applications.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, replenish, and deliver cores.
  • Check cores for accuracy, quality of cuts, and adequate quantity.
  • Dump blue bins and recyclables as needed.
  • Perform forklift inspections.
  • Operate trim compactor controls.
  • Move material between various areas (raw, WIP, Finishing, Shipping, Receiving, manufacturing).
  • Complete transactions in the Inventory Management System.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and discrepancy correction.
  • Manage winding drum and rack inventories.
  • Transfer material racks, pallets, and supplies to production areas.
  • Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Perform all tasks safely and follow standard procedures.
  • Correct and report unsafe conditions.
