About The Position

This position is for a Core Cutter at B2Gold's Nunavut operations. The role involves operating and maintaining core cutting equipment, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of core samples, and supporting geological programs. The position is based in Nunavut, Canada, with a 3x3 fly-in, fly-out rotation, reporting to the Geotechnical Supervisor.

Requirements

• Two (2) years’ experience in a core cutting position using an electric diamond blade core saw in a remote camp setting with limited access to resources.
• Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labour.

Nice To Haves

• WHIMS Certification and/or Level 1 First Aid considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and maintain the electric diamond-blade core saw and associated ventilation systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
• Apply and verify sequential numbering systems to maintain accuracy, traceability, and integrity of all core samples.
• Execute precise core cutting and sampling activities, adhering to established geological protocols and quality standards.
• Document and report completed work to the Supervisor promptly, ensuring clear communication and operational continuity.
• Provide hands-on support to geological and geophysical programs by performing assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives.
• Actively participate in daily toolbox meetings, demonstrating awareness of and compliance with B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies, procedures, and operational expectations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, proactively identifying and mitigating risks such as tripping hazards to uphold a safe working environment.
