About The Position

The Packer C, also identified as a Packaging Technician, is responsible for correctly identifying slit rolls and ensuring each roll is packed and labeled according to customer specifications. The role includes properly using packaging equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining housekeeping of equipment and the work area. The position works in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and loud noise.

Responsibilities

Verify customer requirements by reviewing the setup.
Identify exception codes and use the appropriate packing supplies.
Print labels at the Packaging Station and verify roll data for each finished roll coming off the conveyors.
Perform basic troubleshooting of conveying systems.
Operate the packaging crane safely and in a controlled manner.
Enter data into the computer at the Packing Station and Stretch-Wrapping Station.
Operate the stretch-wrapper in automatic and manual modes.
Weigh finished pallets and apply pallet labels after verifying the data.
Maintain good housekeeping and a safe working environment.
Communicate and interact with fellow packers, the production supervisor, lead technician, and slitting technicians as needed.
Operate a forklift and stack material using a forklift.
Use the clamp truck.
Assist with any Slitting Department function as requested by the lead operator and/or supervisor.
Use packaging equipment properly and perform preventive maintenance and housekeeping for equipment and the work area.
