About The Position

The Packer completes packing for control panels and accompanying accessories for shipment according to customer-specific requirements, and coordinates with Panel Inspection and the Kele shipping department to deliver orders to customers. The role is responsible for packing and shipping coordination, inspecting and packing panels for daily shipments, monitoring packing supplies, and preparing enclosures for shipment. The Packer may also construct crates, organize jobs in the inspection staging area, move prepared enclosures, and cross-train as a Mechanical Assembler. The position is based at Kele Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee, and is full-time on the day shift.

Responsibilities

• Take direct responsibility for packing and coordinating shipping activities.
• Visually inspect and pack panels for daily shipments.
• Track and report inventory levels for panel packing supplies.
• Examine stock packing materials to verify that they conform to specifications.
• Communicate product inaccuracies to the appropriate manager.
• Construct panel crating when appropriate to protect enclosures during shipment.
• Organize jobs in the inspection staging area by panel type (stock, C, C+).
• Verify that the correct parts and quantities were received and that the proper paperwork is present.
• Move prepared panel enclosures to the correct location.
• Cross-train as a Mechanical Assembler to prepare panel enclosures for the panel build process.
• Become proficient in navigating and updating status changes in the panel plan.
• Keep the work area clean and in 5S condition.
