About The Position

This role involves various responsibilities within a packaging unit, focusing on safety, process support, and operational efficiency. The individual will follow chain of command for communication, exercise stop work authority when necessary, and adhere to PPE requirements. Responsibilities include daily forklift inspections, maintaining good housekeeping, following severe weather policies, and performing tasks such as check weighing, stretch wrapping, and documentation. The role also involves executing Safe Work Permits, elevating Work Order notifications, assisting with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, and communicating process, quality, and safety issues. A working knowledge of packaging tasks, SOPs, JSAs, and HECP plans is expected. Troubleshooting process and equipment issues to prevent HSEQ and reliability problems is a key aspect, as is understanding the control logic for packaging equipment. Additional duties include loading/unloading raw materials, maintaining records, reporting inventory, and inspecting equipment for safety issues. Assistance with inspections, shift reports, PMs, and general area needs is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow chain of command, communicating to the shift technician, process specialist, and supervisor for the affected area.

  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in the unit (including areas outside the area of responsibility).
  • Follows Severe Weather Policy in the unit.
  • Responsible for check weighing and stretch wrap, and documentation.
  • Responsible for using/executing Safe Work Permits including pre- and post- walkthroughs and JSA’s while performing work.
  • Responsible for elevating needed Work Order notifications for maintenance and/or E & I to lead operator for Lanxess, including process specialist when applicable.
  • Assist Lock-Out/Tag-Out on electrical and mechanical equipment to know work that is being performed in the area.
  • Effectively communicate process, quality, and safety issues to process specialist.

  • Assist with issues and needs in the area.
