As a member of Johnsonville’s meat cutter production team, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your existing knowledge in the sausage-making business. In addition, you’ll learn how we support our medical community to help save lives. There is unlimited opportunity for growth as you become an active contributor and assist your team in the quest for continual improvement. As a member of Johnsonville’s meat cutter production team, you’ll partake in learning several front-of-the-line processes. Members in these roles partake in harvesting sows, meat cutting/boning, and packaging. You’ll play an important role in ensuring every product that leaves our facility meets our high-quality standards.

Requirements

  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Take ownership for your own personal safety and the safety of all Members working around you
  • Ability and openness to work in other production line/rooms within the facility.
  • Willing to work in a refrigerated environment (43 degrees)
  • Necessity and ability to learn and share learning with others
  • Must have the ability to maintain a cooperative and positive attitude on the job
  • Will be exposed to wide variations in temperature.
  • Ability to work with inside conditions that include exposure to moderate noise levels, moderate odor, and presence of animal blood.
  • Ability to fill/lift/carry 30-50 lb. boxes repeatedly.
  • Ability to push/pull carts and racks
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment post-offer drug screen, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Learn several job functions within packaging and other departments.
  • Follow all USDA and Johnsonville policies.
  • Notify team leaders and/or maintenance of problems.
  • Use knives and whiz knives in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform all job skills in a safe and precise manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.
