About The Position

The Packaging Technician will work with the Whirlpool Senior Packaging Engineer to evaluate packaging for improvements in design and quality, ensuring the safe transit of finished goods to the end user. This is a 1st shift position, Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm, with a pay rate of $23.00+ DOE.

Requirements

• 1-3 years' relevant experience
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to interpret documents
• Working knowledge of Google suite and Microsoft Excel
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good data entry skills
• Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other business areas
• Self-motivated to expand technical expertise and operational knowledge

Nice To Haves

• Packaging or manufacturing experience
• Warehouse experience
• Working knowledge of SAP and/or AS400 WMS

Responsibilities

• Collaborate alongside the Senior Packaging Engineer to optimize current packaging, assess weak points, and implement strategies to mitigate damage
• Update Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Validate packaging BOH (Balance on Hand) as needed
• Identify opportunities to move stock from POD to raw inventory
• Pull stock and complete analysis as needed – which could include photographing material contents, drop testing, validating kit contents to BOM
• Ensure the safe operation and basic maintenance of mechanical, motorized, or electrical packaging equipment in the facility
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
