About The Position
Piedmont Candy Company is hiring a Packaging Technician to support our production team by operating and setting up bagger and tub packaging machines. This is a hands-on role focused on machine setup, minimizing downtime, and ensuring packaging accuracy and quality. Prior experience with our specific equipment is not required—we’re looking for candidates with mechanical aptitude and machine operating experience who are eager to learn.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment quickly

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the shift
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in machine operation, manufacturing, or production
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate bagger and tub packaging machines
- Prepare and verify packaging materials for accuracy (labels, dates, product codes)
- Adjust and calibrate scales, labeling equipment, and printers
- Perform machine changeovers and assist with startup/shutdown
- Monitor equipment performance and minimize downtime
- Inspect finished product for quality, consistency, and correct packaging
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and GMP standards
