About The Position

The Purchasing & Packaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all purchasing and packaging operations within the facility. This role manages procurement of industrial equipment, utilities, and packaging materials; maintains accurate inventory levels; monitors stock movement; and ensures timely delivery of materials. The supervisor leads a team, develops purchasing and packaging procedures, analyzes data to identify trends, and collaborates with multiple departments to support efficient plant operations.

Requirements

Purchasing or inventory management experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem ‑ solving skills
Proficiency with inventory or purchasing management systems
Excellent organizational and time ‑ management abilities
Effective leadership and team ‑ motivation skills
Strong communication skills for cross ‑ department collaboration
Knowledge of supply chain and material ‑ handling principles

Responsibilities

Purchase industrial equipment, utilities, and plant packaging materials
Work directly with suppliers to place orders, maintain lead times, and negotiate pricing
Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and determine purchasing needs
Review purchase orders for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods
Ensure packaging materials are available to support all production areas
Maintain stock levels for packaging supplies and coordinate replenishment
Work with production teams to understand packaging requirements and adjust inventory accordingly
Implement packaging material control procedures to minimize waste and shortages
Track inventory movements and maintain accurate records
Conduct regular physical counts and reconcile discrepancies
Analyze inventory reports to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
Support inventory accuracy across all plant areas
Lead and supervise purchasing and packaging personnel
Assign tasks, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations
Ensure team members follow established procedures and safety protocols
Address and resolve purchasing or packaging ‑ related issues
Generate purchasing and inventory reports, including stock levels, turnover, and cost analysis
Present data ‑ driven insights to improve purchasing and packaging strategies
Identify trends to optimize stock levels and reduce operational costs
Ensure adherence to company purchasing, inventory, and packaging policies
Maintain accurate documentation and records
Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to purchasing or packaging materials
