About The Position

American Workforce Group is seeking a motivated and qualified individual for a full-time, temp-to-hire Production Packaging & Equipment Operator position. This role involves operating automated packaging lines and wood shaving compression balers, managing materials, palletizing and warehousing finished goods, performing preventative maintenance, tracking production data, and providing logistics support. The position offers steady day shift hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a pay range of $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

Ability to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs independently.
Endurance to stand, walk, and work on your feet for a minimum of 7 hours per shift.
Sharp problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good hand-eye coordination.
An interest in learning machine mechanics.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Some background restrictions apply.

Nice To Haves

Prior production, warehouse, or machine operation experience is preferred.
Prior forklift experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Safely set up, adjust, and operate automated packaging lines and high-capacity wood shaving compression balers.
Facilitate the efficient placement of bags, clear compression chambers, and safely remove compressed wood bales from the machinery line.
Move, stack, and wrap completed heavy product bags onto pallets, apply protective covers, and stage finished goods in the correct warehouse locations.
Perform routine maintenance adjustments and troubleshoot operating characteristics on packaging lines to maximize production uptime.
Accurately record bale weights and maintain daily production activity logs according to strict facility quality standards.
Utilize a forklift (or train to get certified) to complete basic material-handling tasks around the warehouse as required by leadership.
