About The Position
The Production Worker / Packaging Operator is responsible for performing both bagging and baler operations, maintaining machinery, and ensuring product quality and workplace cleanliness. This full-time role involves operating various machines, moving and wrapping products, and assisting with production tasks. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
- Ability to pass company forklift training.
- Ability to read and interpret scales.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust weight and timing of baler and perform simple maintenance.
- Ability to perform simple math calculations.
- Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, and bag sealer.
- Maintain the ability to perform both bagging and baler functions as determined by the Shift Leads.
- Operate machinery in a productive manner using established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assist other production areas as needed.
- Move and wrap completed products.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
- Assist Shift Leads to start and stop pellet mills.
- Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
- Maintain a clean workstation.
- Complete the Bagger production report accurately.
- Fill pellet sample cups every ton for quality control information.
- Tag pallets with Quality Control tag including initials, date, ton number, and shift completed.
