About The Position

The Packaging Operator coordinates line activities to ensure the production schedule is completed correctly and efficiently. The role operates machinery, packaging lines, palletizing equipment, and robotic lines used to package quality cheese products. It also includes training line personnel, maintaining equipment, checking product quality and packaging integrity, completing production documentation and system transactions, and maintaining sanitation in the work area. The posted shift is 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and understand instructions.
Proficiency using a computer.
Solid organizational, analytical problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate line activities to complete the production schedule correctly and efficiently.
Operate machinery, packaging lines, palletizing equipment, and robotic lines used in cheese packaging.
Train line personnel, including packaging operators, on paperwork, reports, procedures, and techniques.
Set up, adjust, monitor, and perform general operating maintenance on crumble, deli, sealing, boxing, and palletizing packaging equipment; document completed work.
Ensure product and materials are allocated to the line.
Report equipment malfunctions.
Complete paperwork and system transactions accurately and on time.
Perform leaker, weight, metal detector, magnet, finished packaging integrity, and oxygen checks as required.
Communicate with the department manager, supervisors, quality staff, and office personnel.
Perform pre-operational inspections and maintain chemical strength logs.
Record data in Maestro.
Maintain sanitation and housekeeping in work areas.
