About The Position

Mars is hiring a Packaging Operator for its Royal Canin factory in Lebanon, Tennessee. This multi-skilled packing associate is responsible for operating automated packing machines efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The role also contributes to identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects in the packaging hall.

This is a night-shift position on a set 4-days-on, 4-days-off schedule, with 12-hour shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to manage equipment autonomously. The operator may also be trained to perform other jobs consistent with the position’s skill level and physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Set up automated packing machines, load packing materials, make machine adjustments, and ensure proper sanitation.
• Clear machine jams, rework defective packaging, troubleshoot machine faults, and maintain glue and ink supplies.
• Perform and document quality checks throughout the packaging process, ensuring compliance with Quality, Food Safety, and Legislative standards.
• Follow safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, when operating equipment and performing routine maintenance.
• Complete Cleaning, Inspection, and Lubrication (CIL) tasks according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
• Operate automated packing machines efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects within the packaging hall.
• Perform other jobs consistent with the position’s skill level and physical demands, as trained.
