About The Position

Sika is seeking a dynamic and energetic Packaging Operator for its Greer, South Carolina Insulation Plant. The role reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for inspecting, stacking, packaging, and labeling foam insulation boards and panels, as well as supporting salvage operations and fabricating composite panels in an adjacent offline workspace. The operator also keeps the packaging area neat and presentable and performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Regularly stand during a 10-hour shift.
• Regularly walk the length of the packaging line.
• Read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
• Print and speak simple sentences.
• Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
• Read and use a tape measure accurate to 1/16 inch.

Responsibilities

• Inspect foam insulation boards and panels.
• Stack foam insulation boards and panels into units approximately 48 inches in height.
• Palletize and label verified insulation units by fastening palletizing materials and stretch wrapping finished units through automatic machinery for delivery to the storage area.
• Perform salvage operations as necessary.
• Fabricate composite panels in an adjacent offline workspace.
• Keep the packaging area neat and presentable.
• Perform other duties as needed.
