About The Position
Sika is seeking a dynamic and energetic Packaging Operator for its Greer, South Carolina Insulation Plant. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role inspects, stacks, palletizes, labels, and wraps foam insulation units for delivery to the storage area. The operator may also perform salvage operations and fabricate composite panels in an adjacent offline workspace, while keeping the packaging area neat and presentable. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Regularly stand during a 10-hour shift and walk the length of the packaging line.
- Read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
- Print and speak simple sentences.
- Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
- Read and use a tape measure accurate to 1/16 inch.
Responsibilities
- Inspect foam insulation boards and panels.
- Stack foam insulation boards and panels into units approximately 48 inches in height.
- Palletize and properly label verified insulation units.
- Fasten palletizing materials and stretch-wrap finished units using automatic machinery for delivery to the storage area.
- Perform salvage operations as necessary.
- Fabricate composite panels in an adjacent offline workspace.
- Keep the packaging area neat and presentable.
- Perform other duties as needed.
