About The Position

The Packaging Manager is responsible for safely and efficiently managing wet and dry packaging operations and personnel. This role involves ensuring safety and environmental compliance, accurate reporting, tracking efficiency, and managing daily work assignments for packaging employees. The manager will collaborate with other departments to maintain a safe work environment, ensure material availability, and oversee equipment maintenance and operation. Additionally, the position is responsible for incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Requirements

BS/BA in a related field or High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience building, leading, and directing team members in a manufacturing environment.
Work Keys Assessment required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Bills of Lading, Purchase Orders, MSDSs, manufacturing sheets, and packaging sheets.
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and visitors.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to interpret bar graphs.
Ability to read and interpret scales.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Managing safety and environmental compliance to policies.
Taking necessary measures to resolve issues and implementing corrective actions.
Timely communicating issues, incidents, and corrective actions.
Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of packaging sheets.
Reviewing time cards.
Tracking yield.
Tracking packaging efficiency.
Planning, posting, and managing daily work assignments for packaging employees.
Determining manpower requirements in relation to daily production requirements.
Ensuring packaging materials are available for efficient operations.
Creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
Ensuring accurate end of run counts.
Responsible for proper maintenance and operation of packaging equipment.
Ensuring housekeeping expectations are met.
Ensuring quality packaging requirements are met.
Ensuring packaging equipment cleanouts meet customer and FIFRA requirements.
Responsible for incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
