About The Position

Deschutes Brewery is hiring a full-time, swing-shift Packaging Machine Operator to work with a team operating the packaging line and packaging beverages into kegs, cans, and bottles. The role involves operating automated equipment, performing quality checks, and completing other production tasks. The typical schedule is 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, though it may change based on business needs. Starting base pay is $18.36 per hour for candidates without experience and increases based on relevant prior experience. The position also receives a $3.00-per-hour night-shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Employees may qualify for up to three pay increases in their first year upon completing required training. The career path offers pay up to $28.60 per hour for employees who complete the training program and gain several years of departmental experience, with additional increases possible through cross-training, specialty licenses or certifications, and promotions.

Requirements

Eagerness and ability to learn specialty brewery equipment and machinery.

Previous manufacturing or production experience.

Responsibilities

Operate various pieces of automated equipment on the packaging line.
Work with other team members to package beverages into kegs, cans, and bottles.
Perform quality-control checks, including verifying bottled-on dates, expiration dates, and batch numbers.
Change bottle labels.
Complete other tasks in a production environment.
Focus on safety and follow standard operating procedures during training and work.
