About The Position

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure products are packed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining production flow and quality control within the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Basic math and reading skills are necessary.
  • Technical aptitude and familiarity with machinery are beneficial.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently on a production line
  • The ability to stand for long periods and lift or move various weights, sometimes up to 50 pounds or more and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with good manufacturing practices (GMP)

Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging machines to bag, wrap, box, or fill products, ensuring proper setup and alignment.
  • Monitor the production line to identify and correct any issues, such as spills and ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, some roles may involve trouble shooting and unjamming machines.
  • Transport raw materials and finished products to and from the production area, sometimes using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
