About The Position

The Packaging Line Operator handles production packaging tasks, including boxing, labeling, and packaging products. This is a fast-paced role that also includes other duties as needed. The operator supports the line lead with preparing, setting up, and running production lines, and is expected to be capable of performing at least 50% of the line leader’s responsibilities. The role includes attending daily training classes, following sanitation, safety, food safety, and product quality requirements, and maintaining company productivity and quality standards.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand, bend, squat, and regularly lift up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions and meet qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Help the line lead prepare, set up, and run each specific line.
• Know and follow applicable sanitation and safety SOPs.
• Know the locations of MSDS and SOP books.
• Know the product QA requirements for the work area.
• Know general company policies and handbook policies.
• Know how to access computer tracking and training information.
• Attend daily training classes.
• Be capable of performing at least 50% of the line leader’s responsibilities.
• Maintain a positive attitude, know company policies, and be willing to follow them.
• Keep production errors to a minimum and meet company standards.
• Maintain productivity standards that meet company requirements.
• Maintain excellent communication and relationships with other employees to foster teamwork.
• Seek out new ways to improve productivity.
• Be responsible for food safety.
• Work safely by following all safety standards and procedures.
• Catch and bag food, seal bags, quality-check bags, place them in packaging boxes, seal boxes, place boxes on pallets, label pallets, and deliver them to the wrapping station.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and/or required.
