Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in an academic program for the entire duration of the assignment.
  • Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Science or Engineering strongly required.
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during both co-op terms.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric differences and tolerancing
  • Active participation in development meetings with surgeons and key Zimmer personnel
  • Ability to effectively work within a team to expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional groups
  • Helping to identify customer requirements for a new product
  • Establishing a process method which meets performance and quality requirements
  • GPA of 3.2+ preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, development, and processing of implant and instrument packaging under the direction of a project leader or manager.
  • Designing for manufacturability, inspectibility, and optimum cost
  • Generating prototype models to evaluate new design concepts
  • Coordinating product evaluation with surgeons
  • Generating comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the product
  • Generating design assurance documentation for the project
