Systems Engineering Co-Op (Spring - Summer 2027)
About The Position
Saab, Inc. is seeking a Co-op/Intern for Spring-Summer 2027 in Systems Engineering for product development in East Syracuse, NY. The team designs, develops, and improves state-of-the-art products for Air Traffic Surveillance, military radars, and other Surveillance products. This role offers the opportunity to apply coursework to practical engineering problems, gain experience in product design, analyze and integrate complex systems, and work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team. The position involves supporting system deployments globally and working with technologies such as software-defined radio, custom analog and digital electronics, firmware, embedded software, virtualized processing, air traffic controller display systems, multilateration, surface movement radar, ADS-B, GNSS, target tracking, sensor fusion, embedded and server Linux environments, and IP networking.
Requirements
- 2-3 years working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics from an accredited institution or relevant military education & training.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
- Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Familiar with systems containing software, network, firmware, and/or electronic components.
- Linux and/or IP networking system skills.
- Matlab, C++, Java or other programming experience.
- Familiar with RF or electronic test equipment.
