In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Apply advanced packaging engineering expertise to design, analyze, and release expendable and returnable packaging systems that support products from launch through end of life. Partner cross‑functionally with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, suppliers, and customers to define packaging requirements that protect product quality while enabling efficient operations. Drive measurable improvements in packaging quality, total landed cost, and waste reduction by identifying optimization opportunities aligned with Cummins sustainability and operational goals. Define and optimize returnable container fleet sizes by collaborating with logistics and inventory teams to balance availability, flow efficiency, and working capital. Develop site‑specific packaging solutions that comply with Cummins Global Packaging Standards while supporting safety, storage racking, line‑side presentation, and material handling equipment needs. Ensure supplier conformance to packaging standards and regulatory requirements, reducing inbound and outbound shipment risk and improving overall supply chain reliability. Support Indirect Purchasing initiatives by providing technical insight, cost analyses, and data‑driven recommendations that strengthen packaging procurement decisions. Deliver consistent, value‑based outcomes by applying strong business acumen and proactively pursuing continuous learning and development to expand technical and professional capabilities.
