Ability to safely operate or assist with cranes and material handling equipment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to recognize quality issues and report discrepancies

Responsibilities

Package finished material according to customer specifications and package codes
Safely move material to packaging areas using conveyors, cranes, or other equipment
Inspect material for proper packaging requirements and visible quality issues before packaging
Assist with blocking, wrapping, and banding of material to ensure secure and compliant packaging
Use gantry crane and lifting equipment when required for packaging operations
Coordinate with crane operators to move material in and out of packaging areas
Maintain packaging line organization by keeping areas clear of unnecessary equipment and materials
Monitor packaged material to ensure it meets customer and company quality standards
Identify and report any quality defects or nonconforming material
Follow all safety procedures when handling material and operating equipment
Perform daily inspection of equipment as required and report unsafe conditions
Complete assigned tasks while maintaining efficiency and production flow
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including removing scrap, bands, boards, and waste
Handle tools and equipment properly and store them safely after use
