About The Position

The Packager verifies the quantity, quality, and labeling of products prepared for shipment. The role ensures the correct box types, liners, and packing methods are used; assembles boxes and affixes packaging labels; inspects packs, cups, bottles, and their contents for compliance with customer specifications; and palletizes boxes according to customer requirements. Other duties may be assigned. This is a first-shift position, scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime is required based on production needs. The position pays $15.00 per hour and reports to the Department Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and other written information.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
Basic computer knowledge and ability to input data into a computer.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Ability to lift 25–50 pounds up to 7 feet high 150–300 times during a shift.
Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
Ability to use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel and to reach with hands and arms.
Ability to talk and hear.
Ability to occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Visual abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance, adapt to frequent changes or unexpected events, and commit to long hours when necessary to reach goals.

Responsibilities

Verify the quantity, quality, and labeling of products ready for shipment.
Use the correct box type, box liners, and packing methods.
Assemble boxes and affix labels to packaging.
Examine packs, cups, bottles, and their contents for conformance to customer specifications.
Palletize boxes onto the correct pallets according to customer specifications.
Follow company policies and procedures and observe safety and security procedures.
Meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance, follow instructions, and complete tasks on time.
Ask for and offer help when needed; perform other duties as assigned.
