Packager - 1st Shift
About The Position
Crystal Cabinet Works is seeking a Packager to prepare cabinets, cabinet parts, and accessories for shipment. The role involves applying cardboard packaging and appropriate internal protective materials to help prevent damage during transit and handling. The Packager works on a moving conveyor line and coordinates with the Pack Size Operator as needed. The position is based in Princeton, Minnesota. The first-shift schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Overtime after 40 hours is required as needed. The listed salary range is $19.40–$21.55, Salary Grade B.
Responsibilities
- Scan cabinets and miscellaneous products into a pack-size machine for cardboard application.
- Measure cabinet dimensions, add one inch for packaging, and communicate measurements to the Pack Size Operator.
- Wrap designated cabinets in bubble wrap, foam, and/or plastic for abrasive protection.
- Apply cardboard packaging, corner protectors, labels, and tape to cabinets.
- Determine the appropriate pack-size program and manually measure unusually sized or shaped cabinets.
- Measure miscellaneous parts and pieces and communicate measurements to the Pack Size Operator.
- Package miscellaneous parts and accessories with protective materials, label them, and place them on the conveyor for shipping.
- Visually inspect cabinets, parts, and accessories, and return items with problems to the appropriate production or inspection area.
- Work on a moving conveyor line.
