About The Position

Volt is hiring a Package Handler in Madison, Wisconsin, for a full-time, three-month contract during peak season. The position is an overnight shift from 1:00 AM to 9:00 AM, and overtime may be needed. The role involves receiving, storing, issuing, and handling materials, equipment, and other stockroom or warehouse items. The successful candidate will be able to perform physical tasks throughout the shift and lift up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving ability.
Team-oriented and detail-oriented.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for effective security operations protecting people, data, property, and institutions.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to pass a background test and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Receive and count stock items, and record the data manually or using a computer.
Pack and unpack items for stocking in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
Verify inventory computations against physical stock counts, investigate discrepancies, and adjust errors.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Keep records of the use or damage of stock and stock-handling equipment.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, and report damage to supervisors.
