About The Position

The Package Handler checks, packages, seals, assembles, and loads customer-order packages according to company quality and productivity standards. The role operates equipment including automatic sealers and packing machines. Warehouse associates are cross-trained in shipping, order picking, stock put-away and replenishment, basic inventory control, and basic receiving functions. Compensation is $17 per hour.

Requirements

• Operate an RF scanner.
• Have in-depth knowledge of the warehouse layout.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes for long hours.
• Have schedule flexibility to accommodate seasonal overtime requirements, including weekend work.
• Work under pressure with strong motivation and a sense of urgency.
• Handle the stress of meeting deadlines with tight scheduling.
• Demonstrate excellent dexterity and coordination.
• Frequently lift more than 30 pounds.
• Walk and stand for extended periods; frequently twist, stoop, squat, bend, climb, and reach above shoulder level.
• Count accurately and perform simple math.
• Shift priorities easily.
• Be positive and friendly and able to work in a team environment.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.

Responsibilities

• Fill boxes with dunnage and seal them securely to prevent damage in transit.
• Sort packages by carrier and shipping method.
• Ensure packages are properly labeled.
• Place items in the correct parcel container.
• Sort packages between boxes and envelopes.
• Build outgoing-box pallets and stack them appropriately for shipping.
• Place flat envelopes in bags.
• Load all outgoing packages onto the truck.
• Gather, stack, and return empty totes to pick-zone locations.
• Return partially picked orders to the appropriate pick zones.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines.
• Follow company policies outlined in the employee handbook.
• Keep the work area clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
