About The Position

The Package Handler supports the main sortation, mail sortation, and audit processes as assigned. Sortation varies depending on the pallets received and the mix of large packages, small packages, and envelopes. The operation is currently scheduled from morning to evening and runs seven days per week; weekend work is required. The position reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

Able to multitask and work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Contribute to a safe working environment and follow company policies and procedures.
Able to stand and walk for designated work hours.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds; items over 50 pounds are moved using a team lift.
Able to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
Available to work evenings and weekends, and extended hours as needed.
Must pass an STA background check.
Friendly, helpful, and professional disposition.
Able to take direction from leads, the warehouse supervisor, and managers.

Responsibilities

Unload packages of various sizes from air cans safely and efficiently.
Sort packages using alphanumeric codes and/or ZIP codes, placing them in bins or on pallets for scanning.
Identify packages that are missorted or damaged and place them in the designated area.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and promptly report unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or manager.
Follow scanning procedures and accurately scan packages to the pallet, shuttle, or bag.
Build stable pallets and shuttles according to proper procedures for transport.
Use pallet jacks to move and stage pallets for auditing and transport to the post office.
Work as part of a team to move loaded and empty ULDs between dolly transport and static racks safely in all weather conditions.
Attend daily pre-sort and post-sort meetings.
