About The Position

This role provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. The provider will assess, diagnose, and treat injuries and pathologies involving the forearm, elbow, and hand. The position offers clinic coverage for new, established, and post-operative patients, with an opportunity to support Orthopedic Urgent Care coverage as needed. Typical hours are approximately 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with daily schedule varying based on assignment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
  • Physician Assistant - State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA Upon Hire required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC 90 Days required
  • Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA 120 Days required (for PA)
  • Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA 120 Days required (for PA)
  • Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
  • 3 years of relevant experience (for NP)
  • current, relevant clinical experience (for NP)
  • Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role (for NP)
  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner (for NP)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required (for NP)
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan Upon Hire required (for NP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC 90 Days required (for NP)
  • Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA 120 Days required (for NP)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA Upon Hire required (for NP)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, including X-rays and advanced imaging studies
  • Perform procedures such as joint injections and electrodiagnostic studies
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation, including records, reports, and correspondence
  • Coordinate patient referrals to specialty providers as needed
  • Collaborate closely with primary care providers to ensure clear communication of treatment plans and continuity of care
